FAQs
Do you handle both residential and commercial projects in Toronto?
Yes, Inner Lands is licensed to take on both residential and commercial renovations.
What areas of the GTA do you service?
We actively work in the heart of the city’s downtown core and surrounding areas. If you’re outside the city limits contact us directly — we take on additional locations for the right project.
How long does a typical home renovation take in Toronto?
Each project is unique, and requires a precise review to determine scope, planning stage, site conditions and cleint requirements.
Do I need a permit for my renovation?
Most structural, electrical, plumbing, and addition work requires a City of Toronto building permit; cosmetic work like painting, flooring, or cabinet swaps generally does not. We do our best to confom to codes and requirements, but always keep in mind ways to limit inetractions with the city.
How much does a kitchen or bathroom renovation cost in Toronto?
A kitchen renovation in the GTA can start at $30,000, and a 3-piece bathroom renovation can start at $20,000, but the final cost is entirely dependant on the existing structures in your home, finishes, plumbing and electrical needs, and more. We can provide an itemized quote after an in-person walkthrough – no phone estimates.

What's the difference between hiring a general contractor and hiring trades directly?
A general contractor manages permits, scheduling, and all trades under one contract and one point of accountability, while hiring trades directly means you coordinate the sequencing, timing, and any disputes yourself. Most homeowners and property managers use a GC specifically to remove that coordination burden and reduce liability exposure.
Can you work around an occupied home or an operating business?
Yes. For residential clients we phase work to keep at least one kitchen or bathroom usable where possible, and for commercial clients we routinely schedule around business hours, including evening and weekend work, to avoid disrupting operations.
Do you offer warranties on your work?
Yes, we warranty our workmanship for [X years] in addition to manufacturer warranties on materials and fixtures. New home construction is also covered under Tarion/HCRA warranty requirements where applicable.
What types of commercial projects do you take on?
We handle tenant improvements, office and retail build-outs, and light commercial renovations for property managers, landlords, and business owners across the GTA. Every commercial quote includes a realistic timeline built around your operational needs.
